Handling Positive COVID Cases
We have had a few positive cases since we've started so we have developed this process to address them.

First of all, we ask that if you receive a positive test result you send an email to the league address. Your name will not be made public in the notifications that we send.

1. If a player tests positive by antigen test, they are to either:
     a) quarantine for 14 days.
     b) get a PCR test within 48 hours. If that test is negative, they are cleared to play. If that test is positive or is not conducted within 48 hours, they are to quarantine for 14 days from the first positive test.

2. The player's team will be notified that a team member tested positive.  The notification will not identify the player.

3. Players notified that they are a close contact due to outside activities, such as school, will quarantine for the length of time recommended to them by whomever contacted them of the close contact.

4. Teams will not be required to quarantine due to a teammate's positive test, except in the following situation: If a team has a loss of players, due to positive tests, great enough that they are not able to field a team, the entire team will quarantine for 14 days from the last positive test (unless the time period between positive tests is greater than 8 days in which case we revert back to step 1). These teams may NOT borrow players from other teams to field a team.

COVID Testing

Here is how to get a test through Walgreen's.

Healthy Play Guidelines
A Return to Play Plan was developed and supported by all the leagues in our district. This was developed with input from Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services and is designed to allow us to play within the guidelines established by the state for youth sports. Also included is a health screening questionnaire you can refer to each day before practice or game and an FAQ document from the State of Michigan MI Safer Sports Plan that will be helpful for those players who are or will be 13 before the end of the season.

Please also note these additional safety procedures that were adopted by the Westwood board:
- Players will not be in the dugouts during the game due to social distancing requirements. Bats will be required to remain in the dugout.
- Masks must be worn by all on our grounds at all times.

You can get more details on the MI Safer Sports Plan and Interim Guidance for Athletics from the MDHHS site at https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98178_105410---,00.html.

This PDF was sent to registered families on 4/3/21 - District 2 Return to Play Plan, Daily Health Screening form, sports FAQ from MDHHS.
