Frequently Asked Questions
- Can tee ball players move up to Minors?  Yes. If you have a 6-year old (birthday before 1/1/2014) who has played at least one year of tee ball and who you think is ready for Minors (pitching machine), you can request to be moved up to Minors.  To do that, please send an email to [email protected]
- When will each division play?  We are starting with last year's schedule as the basis (see the Divisions page under Play Here on the website) but the final schedule will depend on how many teams we have and in which divisions.
- When will practices be?  We don't have practice times set yet other than we've allotted June 30-July 5.  We'll schedule at least 2 90-minute practice times that week to each team.

As we informed league members on 3/11/20, safety of our players and families is our priority.  We are monitoring numerous sources of guidance and will keep you informed of activity changes at Westwood as a result of virus impacts.

We encourage you to monitor guidance at the local, state, and national level.

Update 6/12/2020

We are very excited to tell you that we have developed a framework for playing this season and, after reviewing it and getting approval from the district, the Board approved it. We are having a season!

Our plan is reasonably detailed and we're working on making it as clear as possible so we can share it with you. Look for another email this weekend with the details on start and end dates, sign up dates, and how practice and play will look.

We're excited to be able to offer this opportunity and hope you will join us!

Update 6/6/2020
The situation seems to be improving weekly lately as far as allowing us to play. The Board will be meeting in the next week to determine our course of action. Thank you for your patience!

Update 5/7/2020
Little League International has canceled Regional and World Series Tournaments and the state administrators have canceled the State tournaments. These decisions do NOT impact our regular season. In fact, Little League International is very supportive of local leagues holding their season while following all federal, state, and local guidelines. The stay-at-home order is now extended through May 28.  We will review the information from Little League on "return to play" and continue to watch local and state guidance for when activities like Little League are allowed.  If we are able, our target date to play would be AFTER the July 4th holiday.

Update 4/29/2020
State of Michigan stay-at-home order has been extended to May 15, so we cannot begin anything until at least then. We're expecting more details from Little League as to their plans and recommendations in early May.  We are developing plans and talking with other local leagues about possibilities for play this summer.

Update 3/21/2020
Little League has strongly advised suspending all league activities until at least May 11, 2020. Westwood and all other local leagues that are part of District 2 have agreed to abide by that advisory.
